Element Power Solar effectively expanded its global presence through the inauguration of a new solar operating plant in Gela,Sicily.
Officina Solare Piano Corallo S.r.l.,the 4,5 MW photovoltaic project was acquired on 11 August, 2010. The construction of this ground-mounted facility will be completed within 4 months in an area renowned for extraordinary solar irradiation levels. The plant is expected to produce over 1570 equivalent hours of energy production per year, with an impressively low annual C02 emmission rate of approximately 3,815.1 tons.
The acquisition of the La Cattiva projects fits the strategic plan of our PV business and also consolidates Element Power's presence in Italy. This project leverages international solar expertise of assessing market conditions, selecting robust project sites and supporting this with the swift construction of utility-sized solar power plants", said Ivan Furones, Chief Development Officer of Element Power Solar.
