Element Power France to present 17,8 MW solar projects for French tender

January 13, 2012

Region: Midi-Pyrénées, Burgundy, Franche Comté - France

Element Power recently received authorisation to build five PV projects with a combined capacity of 17.8 MW in France. The projects are ready-to-build as of January 2012 and Element Power is currently preparing competitive offers with the aim of being awarded a French tender. All offers are to be presented on 8 February 2012.

The projects are located in Midi-Pyrénées, Burgundy, and Franche Comté. The various sites comprise former quarries, landfill and waste lands. Peak power per project ranges from 1.4 MW to 9.5 MW.

"The strategy employed by Element Power, utilising a good knowledge of authorisation processes and exacting environmental and technical site selection once again led to speedy approval for each project. Despite a somewhat unstable regulatory context, Element Power strongly believes that these projects are in keeping with the long-term objectives of French solar energy development." Clemence Picard, Country Manager - France
